A PowerPC processor based Macintosh computer
G3 Processor at minimum 233 MHz recommended
At least 16MB of RAM and 15Mb of free disk space
Mac OS 7.5.5 or later
(Note:  Mac users with 68020, 68030, or 68040 processor-based systems can install QuickTime 4.0.3 from the enclosed 68k-labelled installer.  (These 68K systems will deliver reduced quality video images - i.e. fewer frames per second.)

 Windows-based System Requirements
A Pentium-based PC or compatible computer
MMX with clock rate over 300MHz recommended
At least 16MB of RAM and 15 Mb of free disk space
Windows 95/98/ NT/2000 system software
A Sound Blaster or compatible sound card and speakers
DirectX version 3.0 or later recommended
Install QuickTime 4.1.2
To install:  In the Finder, open the QuickTime Mac folder on this CD and locate the QuickTime 4 or 5 icons.  Double-click the appropriate icon for your computer (PowerPC or 68K/Quadra) to create an installation "disk image" (a virtual disk will appear on your desktop) with the QT installer visible in it.  Double-click on this icon to begin installation.  To install:  Open "My Computer", then navigate into the QuickTimeWindows folder on the CD.  Locate the QuickTimeInstaller.exe file and double click it to begin installation. You must have an active connection to the Internet in order to complete the QuickTime software installation. You may wish to view or print out the simple step-by-step instructions on installation included here.
(Version 5.0.1 is provided on this CD, current as of May 2001.  To download the most recent version direct from Apple, you may also click on the logo above.  This file is about 9Mb in size, and may require a lengthy download unless you are connected via high-speed internet.)
